SAN DIEGO — A big scare for a Tierrasanta family when winds knocked down two pine trees into their home during Saturday’s storm.

Neighbors said they had never seen such powerful winds in their area. The trees toppled while a couple and two young children were inside the home.

“I had a window opened a crack – everything in my house was swirling around and I heard this huge ‘boom,’” said Muriel Vasconcellos.

The owners told FOX5 branches poked two holes in the roof and went through a wall. Their carport was also crushed, but everyone got out safely.

“It’s just scary. As long as they’re ok — that’s all that matters,” said Connor Delille, a neighbor.
