SAN DIEGO — Some San Diegans woke up to rain and lightning Tuesday.
The National Weather Service warned about a wet morning commute as the scattered showers and storms moved toward North County.
NWS reported a significant amount of lightning and rolling thunder from the storms.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for northeastern San Diego County until 6:15 p.m. The warning includes Highway S22 between Borrego Springs and the Imperial County line.
A flash flood warning was also issued for the northeastern parts of the county until 8:45 p.m. The warning includes Borrego Springs and Highway S22 between Borrego Springs and the Imperial County line.
A flash flood watch is in effect for the county’s deserts and mountains through 10 p.m.
