VISTA, Calif. — One person was detained early Monday after a hit-and-run crash in Vista, authorities said.

The driver knocked down a stop sign and damaged a home’s mailbox around 2 a.m. near Olive Avenue and Maryland Drive before driving off, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department told FOX 5.

The driver was eventually detained for hit-and-run and driving under the influence, SDSO said.
