LA JOLLA, Calif. — Crews Monday put out a brush fire that prompted a temporary road closure in La Jolla, first responders said.

The fire, which started as a car fire and spread to brush, was located at La Jolla Parkway and southbound Interstate 5, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. SDFD firefighters were able to halt the fire at half an acre.

Traffic officials said the eastbound La Jolla Parkway on-ramp to southbound I-5 and eastbound State Route 52 has been reopened after almost two hours.

The EB La Jolla Pkwy on-ramp to SB I-5 & EB SR-52 has been reopened to traffic.
