Padres trade for another power hitter

SAN DIEGO — The wheeling and dealing San Diego Padres have pulled off another blockbuster trade to bolster their offense.

Fox Sports reported Friday that the Friars will acquire Atlanta Braves outfielder Justin Upton. The two-time All Star crushed 29 home runs and batted in 102 runs last year. Those numbers earned him his second Silver Slugger award.

Reports say that the Padres will send the Braves prospects to be named later.

Thursday, the team finalized a trade the will bring Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp to the team.
