SAN DIEGO– Ronald Brookins II trains five days a week, altering between San Diego State and the Olympic Training center facilities, in hopes to earn a spot on this years USA Track and Field team.
“Representing them at the Olympics would just be so much work finally accomplished,” said Brookins. “It would be overwhelming amount of emotion”.
Right now, the Helix High school graduate remains focused on securing a spot at the Olympic long jump trials, which means he needs to jump roughly 26 feet 6 inches at Saturdays last chance qualifier for the 2016 Olympics at Mesa College. Brookins already qualified for the Olympic trials in the hurdles.
