SAN DIEGO — For the past three years, Point Loma High School teammates Lily Lutz and Makenna Peter found a way to make their mark on the varsity soccer team. But it’s their involvement off the field and in MADCAPS (Mothers and Daughters Club Assisting Philanthropies) , that showcases why their teammates respect and appreciate them both.
The two juniors work with various non-profit organizations throughout San Diego such as Rady Children’s Hospital, Becky’s House, St. Vincent de Paul, and Race for a Cure. This year alone the two young ladies each volunteered over 100 hours in the community.
Pointers Head Coach John Murphy says he believes the work Lily and Makenna do in the community translates onto the field as well, helping Point Loma earn a CIF Championship last year, and a spot on top of the Western League this year.
