POWAY, Calif.-  Poway Senior Conner Kirkegaard turned a baseball cage into a long snapping cage and the creativity paid off.  Kirkegaard says he worked in the cage at least three times a week, doing a variety of drills, to hone his skills. By the end of his freshman year, he earned a spot on varsity during the playoffs, and proved his worth ever since.

"Conner is an exceptional player for us," said Head Coach Damian Gonzalez. " He is an unbelievable long snapper and he has really honed his craft over the years."

At one point, long snapping guru Chris Rubio ranked Kirkegaard as high as number 2 in the country for long snappers. The 3.8 student athlete earned a scholarship to Air Force next year and looks forward to competing at the next level.
