SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Chargers will hold a tribute for Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Junior Seau, the team announced Saturday.
The Chargers plan to honor Seau before their regular-season home opener on Sunday, Sept. 13.
The ceremony at Qualcomm Stadium is expected to a have a video and a speech by his daughter, Sydney.
Seau, who committed suicide in 2012, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame today. The Oceanside native and former USC star played 20 seasons in the NFL, mostly for the Chargers but also for the Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots.
