Chargers head to playoffs after beating Kansas City

SAN DIEGO — The Chargers came from behind Sunday to beat the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 and earn their first trip to the playoffs since 2009.

The Bolts were behind by 10 points in the fourth quarter, but Philip Rivers threw his third touchdown pass of the game to help the team even the score at 24.

Nick Novak kicked the game-winning field goal in overtime, giving the Chargers their ninth victory.

The Chargers will travel to Cincinnati for a 10 a.m. kickoff against the Bengals on Sunday.
