Aztecs become last undefeated team in nation

SAN DIEGO — San Diego State became the last standing undefeated men’s basketball team in the nation for the first time in program history after Auburn lost to Alabama Wednesday.

San Diego State is 18-0, the only team in the country without a loss. It’s their best record since the 2013-14 team advanced to the Sweet 16.

They are finding multiple ways to win: Their most recent victory came despite an ugly three-point shooting performance. San Diego State relied instead on suffocating defense to shut down Fresno State 64-55 on Tuesday night.

The Aztecs get back on the court Saturday when they host Nevada at 5 p.m. Nevada has not won at Viejas Stadium in their past six trips.
