SAN DIEGO – County medical examiners Sunday released the name of the woman who was struck by a vehicle and killed on Friday evening in the Linda Vista section of San Diego.

Irma Nava Trujillo, 57, of San Diego died from multiple blunt force trauma, according to the county Department of the Medical Examiner.

Trujillo was walking north along Genesee Avenue northwest of Linda Vista Road about 7:30 p.m. when she attempted to cross the street, from west to east, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said. She was struck by a 2005 Toyota Camry, driven south on Genesee by a 44-year-old man, and died at the scene, Heims said.

The woman was not in a crosswalk when she was struck, Heims said. It was unclear whether the driver would face any charges.
