SAN DIEGO – A woman was left bloody and bruised after chasing down a purse snatcher at the dentist’s office in Clairemont Tuesday.

Pamela Taylor was checking out of her appointment at New Smile Dental when a man stepped into the office and grabbed her purse.

“I was chatting with the dentist at the desk and all of a sudden [the dentist] screamed ‘he’s got your purse!'” Taylor said.

Video shows the thief jump into a dark-colored car and Taylor attempting to run after the thief.  She was seen falling in the parking lot as he drove away.

“He was stronger than me. He shifted the car into gear, took off and slammed me down on the pavement,” Taylor said. “My nose is scraped off. I can’t even move this part of my hands.”

Investigators have the license plate of the alleged getaway car, which was possibly stolen, and are following some strong leads, according to San Diego police Lt. Andra Brown. Anyone with information about the crime should contact SDPD.
