SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -- A lengthy pursuit that started in El Cajon and spanned three counties ended north of Los Angeles Tuesday night.

Officers initially tried to pull a woman in a dark-red Nissan Rogue over for speeding on state Route 52 near state Route 125, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Mary Bailey. The driver then got on Interstate 5, which she continued north on into Orange County. By around 9:30 p.m. the driver had crossed into Los Angeles County.

Around 10:15 p.m., the driver stopped in Santa Clarita. Aerial video showed CHP officers pulling the woman out of the car and arresting her.

CHP officers have identified the driver as 43-year-old Adelquin Torres of Spring Valley.

FOX 5 spoke to her neighbors Wednesday and they said they saw CHP at her house while the chase was going on.

“Like 8 p.m. a white highway patrol showed up. He briefly just looked at the place and drove off and then probably like a minute or two later two more other units pulled up. They walked around the place. We didn’t know what they were looking for. It was weird to have highway patrol there,” Tiffany Schildmeyer said.

Schildmeyer said she does not know much about Torres, but has witnessed some odd behavior.

“She’s chased a few people off. She had washer and dryer going to be delivered. She chased them off with a broom stick. So they loaded up and left. She took it upon herself to go in our neighbor's yard and cut their whole bush down. Other than that she pretty much stays to herself. She parks her car in the garage. Comes in and out and that’s about it,” Schildmeyer said.

After learning Torres was out on bail FOX 5 went to her home and knocked on her door, but no one answered.

According to jail records, Torres appeared in court Wednesday morning. She was initially booked into jail for evading officers and resisting arrest.
