SAN DIEGO – A 16-inch cast-iron water main broke in the Skyline area, and about 25 homes and businesses were without water service, a city official said.
The break was near the intersection of Cielo and Skyline Drives and was reported about 6 a.m. City crews were dispatched for repair work, according to Arian Collins, spokesman for the Public Utilities Department.
Customers were able to obtain water for drinking, cooking and other uses from water wagons brought to the site, Collins said.
Collins said regular water service was expected to be restored.
