SAN DIEGO -- A water main break Friday flooded streets and left some residents without water in Hillcrest.
The water main broke near the intersection of Third and Robinson avenues around 7:45 a.m.
The 8-inch concrete main likely burst because of corrosion and old age, the San Diego Public Utilities Department said. The water caused cracks to form in the street and raised the pavement.
Water was shut down in the immediate area, leaving about 50 people without a supply. Officials restored service around 6:30 p.m.
