SANTEE, Calif. — A mobile home and several vehicles went up in flames at a mobile home park in East County Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out around 7 a.m. at the park on Magnolia Avenue near State Route 67 in Santee.

A resident inside the home was able to escape the flames, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said. A firefighter suffered a minor injury in a “trip and fall,” and one resident with minor injuries said they did not need help from paramedics, according to Santee Fire Department.

Sheriff’s deputies helped residents evacuate while crews doused the fire. The flames were knocked down within about an hour.

Investigators believe the fire started in a carport before extending to a home. An immediate estimate of the damage was not available.
