SANTEE, Calif. -- Friends and family of Leticia Arroyo gathered Tuesday evening in Santee for a candlelight vigil in her honor.

The gathering took place just outside the home where the 34-year-old was found dead last Tuesday by her roommate.

The Sheriff's Department hasn't said much about Arroyo's death except to say her body had suffered trauma to its upper torso. The results of an autopsy have yet to be made public.

Arroyo's family thanked supporters for their encouragement and well wishes.

"My sister had a strong soul, a loving soul. She's forever going to be missed," said Steven Chavez, Arroyo's younger brother.

Chavez also said he and his family are confident Arroyo's killer will be caught and brought to justice.

"We're not going to stop until justice is served, we will not stop," Chavez said. "You don't get away with something like this."
