Video captures thieves ripping ATM from pharmacy

POWAY, Calif. — Investigators released video Tuesday of five thieves ripping an ATM out of a pharmacy in Poway.

Deputies arrived at the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 1266 Poway Road around 3:30 a.m. The front door of the pharmacy had been ripped out and debris was scattered across the sidewalk and parking lot.

The tow cable used to rip out the ATM was also found in the parking lot, deputies said. No description of the suspects was available. The vehicle was a white, mid-1990s Chevrolet Silverado extended cab pickup truck with stock tires and a stock chrome rear bumper.

It was unclear if anything else was missing from the pharmacy.

The ATM was recovered at approximately 8:30 p.m. by two SDPD officers in the 5300 block of Bonita Drive. The ATM was broken apart and no money was inside.
