CHULA VISTA, Calif. — An employee at a Verizon Wireless store in Chula Vista was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night.

According to Chula Vista police, a man entered the store in the 1100 block of Broadway just before 9 p.m. and pointed a gun at the clerk as he was getting ready to close. The man directed the employee to the back and told him to go inside the bathroom. Once the clerk was there, a second person went into a safe and took several cell phones.

The two thieves were seen leaving in a dark-colored sedan. One of the suspects was described as dressed in dark clothing with a cinched hoodie.

The employee was not injured and there were no customers in the store at the time.
