PHOENIX – Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow jumped into action aboard a Delta Airlines flight to comfort a family of a man who was suffering a heart attack midflight.
Richard V. Gotti posted pictures on Facebook and a first-hand account of the in-flight medical emergency. The crew and other passengers on the Phoenix-bound flight from Atlanta helped the man from doing chest compressions, starting an IV to praying.
Tebow walked down the aisle toward the family that was in distress, Gotti said. He met with the family as they cried on his shoulder.
“I watched Tim pray with the entire section of the plane for this man. He made a stand for God in a difficult situation,” Gotti said.
When the plane landed the man “had a pulse,” but later died at the hospital, People Magazine reported.
Tebow did not mention the incident on the plane, although an Instagram photo shows Tebow sitting in front of her and mentions the medical emergency.
Tebow seems to be spreading love and comfort to people all over the U.S. lately. Last week, he dumped his Bahamas vacation to visit a former teammate who was hurt in the Orlando attack.
