SAN DIEGO -- Police were investigating a suspicious package discovered outside the courthouse in downtown San Diego. Law enforcement determined it was not a threat.
The call came in around 12:02 p.m. Tuesday, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Police closed down streets near the courthouse on 1100 Union Street in San Diego.
There is a lot of law enforcement activity at the northeastern part of the courthouse.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department was directing pedestrians away from the area during the investigation.
By 1:30 p.m. investigators determined the package was not a threat and was an empty container. They opened the streets again to the public.
