SAN DIEGO – A San Diego police sergeant was taken to the hospital after a suspected drunk driver rear-ended a patrol car early Thursday morning.

The crash happened on Interstate 15, just south of state Route 56, in Sabre Springs around 2:30 a.m.

The police sergeant had minor injuries, officials said.

The driver of the Kia was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving.
