SAN DIEGO – A city-owned street sweeping truck leaked oil on a Chollas View street causing a traffic jam Monday, police said.
A hydraulic valve on the truck burst spilling oil on the 3600 block of 54th Street at 3:15 p.m., San Diego city streets division officials said.
Cars were slipping and sliding around the street and one crashed into the median.
Crews were in the area cleaning up the oil with sand.
Drivers should avoid the area to allow crews to clean up the spill. Traffic was expected to be back to normal at 5 p.m.
