SAN DIEGO – A street sweeper crashed and overturned on Interstate 15 in Rancho Bernardo and blocked two southbound lanes, the California Highway Patrol reported.

A sweeper and brown  Chevrolet truck collided near Camino Del Norte shortly after 8 a.m., according to the CHP reports. The Chevrolet stopped on the roadside, but the sweeper flipped and blocked the left lanes. A CHP dispatcher said she did not know if the sweeper was operated by Caltrans or some other company or agency.

A tow truck operator was directed to bring a large amount of absorbent to clean up following the crash, the CHP said. The CHP reported the crash was blocking the two left lanes and a SigAlert was issued.

A San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said no one involved in the crash was taken to a hospital.
