EL CAJON, Calif. — A volunteer tutor at two Spring Valley schools pleaded not guilty Wednesday to felony possession of child pornography.

Gary Alan Dallman, 69, was allowed to remain free on his posted $20,000 bail.

Sheriff’s deputies went to Dallman’s East County home on Kempton Street on Oct. 27 after a caregiver found alleged pornographic materials and notified authorities.

Detectives served a search warrant and allegedly found child pornography stored on electronic devices.

Sheriff’s Lt. Greg Rylaarsdam said Dallman was a tutor at Kempton Elementary School and La Presa Middle School.

School officials immediately terminated Dallman when they were notified of the investigation, the lieutenant said.

Dallman will be back in court Dec. 8 for a readiness conference and Jan. 13 for a preliminary hearing.
