SAN DIEGO – Police released a composite sketch of one of two men responsible for two attempted sexual assaults in the North Park neighborhood.

The first attack happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday when two men attacked a woman while she walked alone on the 3200 block of Meade Avenue, San Diego police said. The woman fought her attackers until the suspects fled.

The sketch released Monday evening matches the description of one of her attackers – a white or Hispanic, 23 or 24 years old, about 5 feet 8 with braces and wearing a black shirt, police said.

The woman described the second attacker as Hispanic, 6 feet tall and about 28 or 29 years old, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and speaking with a Spanish accent, police said.

The second attack happened about 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, when two men accosted a woman as she walked alone on the 2700 block of Lincoln Avenue, police said. The woman was knocked to the ground from behind and one of the suspects tried to pull her clothing off.

The woman fought against the two men and yelled for help until they fled in an unknown direction, police said. Two bystanders came to the woman’s aid after the men fled, but neither the victim nor the bystanders could describe the attackers.

“The attacks are likely related because of their nature,” said San Diego police Lt. Mike Holden, who said that other factors in the investigation also led police to believe the incidents were related.

According to police the victims are dealing with trauma and minor injuries.

Police warm both women and men in the North Park neighborhood to be on guard.

“As a father of a daughter I always ask my daughter while she is out to travel with friends and not walk to her car alone. I think its important for us to be aware of who is around us,” said Holden.

Anyone with information about the attacks is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or the San Diego Police Department Sex Crimes Unit at 619-531-2210.
