Man shot in the groin during drug deal gone bad, cops say

SAN DIEGO-- Police are investigating a shooting that took place near Dave & Buster's in Mission Valley that left one man wounded Sunday.

Police were called to Camino Del Rio North near Interstate 805 shortly before 8:40 p.m., where a 28-year-old man was shot, according to the San Diego Police Department. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the groin.

The shooting occurred after a drug deal went wrong, SDPD said.

The man was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital around 8:45 p.m. Police said his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police are still looking for the shooter.

No other information was immediately available.
