SAN DIEGO — A 28-year-old San Diego man was killed in a crash involving three cars on a freeway east of Los Angeles early Sunday.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Rodney Taveras.

The crash was at 4:40 a.m. on the Pomona (60) Freeway, just east of Indiana Street, said Officer Kyle Shepardson of the California Highway Patrol.

Taveras was pronounced dead at the scene, Shepardson said. The crashes were about 5 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

Details of the crash were still under investigation, he said. The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured and no arrests were made.
