SAN DIEGO – Residents prevented a man suspected of crashing into at least six parked cars early Monday from leaving the scene and held him until police arrived, officers said.

One resident came out of her home shortly before 3 a.m. after hearing a crash. She told police she discovered that her car had been hit and she saw a car zig-zagging down the 7700 block of Bendigo Road, hitting other cars on both sides of the street. Four cars were damage on Bendigo Road and at least two more were hit around the corner, FOX 5 reported.

A group of residents prevented the driver from leaving the area. Police said the suspect is a man in his 30s. He suffered some kind of head injury and was bleeding from his wound.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital.

As of 8 a.m., the incident was still under investigation and no one had been arrested.
