DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University has lifted the lockdown after reports of a gunman on the campus late Sunday.
The university updated students via Twitter but offered no details about the shooter or of any injuries.

An emergency alert warning students was initially issued on social media, advising them to “seek shelter away from gunfire” and to “lock” their doors about 11:14 p.m. Sunday.
NCCU University Police Emergency. Active shooter. If safe, seek shelter away from gunfire. Active shooter. Lock your door.
