MISSION BEACH – At least three razor blades were found stuck into grass with sharp edges facing up at a park in Mission Beach.

Two razor blades were discovered and reported before noon at the Bonita Cove Park, in the 1100 block of West Mission Bay Drive, San Diego Fire-Rescue spokesman Lee Swanson said. Lifeguards and police closed the park and found a third blade during a search.

Swanson told City News that razor blades being placed in Mission Beach parks has been a “sporadic problem this summer.” The last reported incident happened in April, when two children were cut by upward facing blades in the same area.

A 41-year-old woman was cut last August at the park during a similar incident.
