SAN DIEGO — The Registrar of Voters posted the final unofficial election night results early Wednesday morning.
Sara Jacobs defeated San Diego City Council President Georgette Gomez in the 53rd District race between two Democrats.
Californians passed Proposition 22, which exempts ride-hailing companies like Uber and Lyft from a state law that would have required them to treat their drivers as employees. They rejected Proposition 21, which would have let cities limit rent hikes on properties that are more than 16 years old.
Early returns show Todd Gloria leading Barbara Bry in the San Diego mayoral race and Mara Elliott has claimed victory in her reelection as city attorney.
Most San Diegans voted in favor of Measure B, which will establish a commission on police practices.
