Incumbent Mara Elliott advances easily to runoff in city attorney’s race

SAN DIEGO — City Attorney Mara Elliott, the only city official seeking reelection, easily advanced to the November runoff, in which she will face attorney Cory Briggs, who founded Briggs Law Corporation in 2002.

With 100% of precincts reporting, Elliott had 66.3% of the vote.

Cory Briggs trailed Elliott with 24.6%, followed by Peter Mesich with 9.1%.
