SAN DIEGO — Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who killed a 44-year-old man Wednesday night in Clairemont, along with two drivers who ran him over.

Around 7:25 p.m., a car hit the man, who was not in a crosswalk, in the 5500 block of Clairemont Mesa Blvd., just west of Interstate 805, according to San Diego police. After the initial collision, two more cars hit the man. None of the three drivers stopped. Eventually, another driver called police.

The man died at the scene.

The bumper of the first car fell off, but police were not able to provide a description of the vehicle. The second car was described only as white and the third vehicle was described as similar to a Jeep.
