Man carjacks tourist couple at knifepoint

SAN DIEGO – San Diego police are searching for a suspect who stole a car at knifepoint Saturday in Old Town.

The incident occurred at an Arco gas station in the 3800 block of Old Town Avenue.

The car is a silver 2014 Nissan Versa rental car with Nevada license plate 714APJ. The passenger rear light is broken with red tape on it.

The suspect is described as a white man, in his 40s, around 5 feet 7 and thin with curly reddish blond hair. He was wearing a white, orange and green striped polo shirt and blue jeans.

The Robbery Unit is investigating.
