LOS ANGELES – “Loud noises” rang out at Los Angeles International Airport causing travelers to run in all directions Sunday night.
Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Andy Neiman posted on Twitter around 10 p.m. that the report of a shooting was “proven to be LOUD NOISES only no shots fired.”

Police responded to LAX around 9 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting in a terminal. Travelers were seen running with their luggage at LAX as police investigated the unspecified incident. Several areas of LAX, including Terminal 8, were evacuated due to police activity, several witnesses posted on social media.

The Los Angeles Fire Department also responded and noted that “no significant incident” has been noted, KTLA reported.
Los Angeles Airport Police tweeted that traffic was being blocked from entering the airport due to police activity.
