SAN DIEGO — A suspicious device that shut down streets downtown Wednesday morning turned out to be a commercial confetti cannon, San Diego Fire-Rescue spokeswoman Monica Munoz said.
The package was spotted on India Street near Ash Street around 10 a.m., according to San Diego Police Department.
Several streets in the Little Italy area were shut down, including blocks of Beech, Ash and India streets.
Around 10:30 a.m., investigators said the package was deemed safe. Roads re-opened a short time later:
