2 Marines killed in Yuma helicopter crash

YUMA, Ariz. — Two U.S. Marine Corps pilots have been killed in a helicopter crash near Yuma, Arizona, officials announced Sunday.

The service members were flying an AH-1Z Viper helicopter on a routine training mission when they crashed around 8:45 p.m. Saturday night, according to a Marine Corps press release. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The identity of the two pilots will not be released until 24 hours after their families are notified, officials said.
