SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Fire-Rescue crews rescued a woman who was trapped inside her car after a collision involving two other vehicles Thursday night in City Heights.

The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. near 41st Street and University Avenue.

Police said the woman was driving eastbound on University Avenue at a high rate of speed when her Infiniti collided with a car parked in front of a Jack-in-the-Box, pushing it onto the sidewalk. The Infiniti flipped onto its side and was hit by a third vehicle coming out of the drive-thru.

When rescue crews arrived, they pulled off the roof of the Infiniti and rescued the woman. She was taken to a hospital. The extent of her injuries was unknown.

San Diego police temporarily blocked off eastbound University Avenue from Interstate 15 to 42nd Street for an investigation.
