Man stabbed near Encanto Recreation Center

SAN DIEGO — San Diego police sought an assailant Thursday who stabbed a man twice near the Encanto Recreation Center.

The attacker got out of a gray Toyota pickup truck and attacked the 52- year-old victim, who was drinking wine on a staircase on Broadway near 65th Street shortly before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect then got back into the truck and drove off.

The victim suffered knife wounds to his neck and abdomen, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police described the suspect as a bald 5-foot-8 Hispanic man in his early 30s dressed in black clothing.
