Person shot in Spring Valley

SPRING VALLEY, Calif. — Sheriff’s deputies are investigating after one person was shot in Spring Valley.

The incident was reported at 5:17 Saturday night in the 8800 block of Jamacha Road near Gillespie Road, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

โ€œI heard either six, eight or 10 shots,โ€ a witness, who asked not to be identified, said.

He said he ran outside and saw a white car slow down and hit a corner.

The man said that is when he rushed over to help.

โ€œI unlocked the door and he was riddled with bullets on his right side. The right side of his passenger door was riddled with bullets,” the witness said.

He told FOX 5 the victim was holding a phone.

โ€œI kept hearing, ‘Are you there? Are you still there?’โ€

The man said that is when he grabbed the phone and started speaking with a dispatcher.

โ€œShe told me to put pressure on his wounds,” he said.

He waited with the victim until deputies and medics arrived.

Deputies confirmed one person had been shot, and was taken to the hospital.

The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.

The witness told FOX 5 the victim told him he was an Uber driver.

While on scene the FOX 5 news crew saw an Uber sticker on a white car that had several bullet holes.

At this time no arrests have been made and the motive for the shooting is unclear.
