Man found dead in Southcrest

SAN DIEGO -- Police are investigating after a man was found dead Wednesday in Southcrest.

Patrol officers responding to a report of a possible traffic accident shortly before noon found the victim with an injury to his head sitting behind the wheel of a vehicle in the 4000 block of Boston Avenue, according to San Diego police.

The victim, whose name was not immediately available, died at the scene, and homicide detectives were called in to take charge of the investigation, Sgt. Matt Botkin said.

As of early afternoon, there were no reports of arrests in the case.
