SAN DIEGO – A river of water was reported running towards Mission Boulevard from a water main break, first reported at Missouri and Ingraham streets around 3 a.m. Thursday.

San Diego police sectioned off areas of flooded roadways at Diamond and Gresham streets, and Missouri and Ingraham streets with flooded roads reported as far away as Garnett and Mission boulevards.

Water was seen bubbling up at the intersection of Ingraham and Missouri streets between the curb and the asphalt.  Vehicles parked nearby are safe at the time.  San Diego police said they would cordon off additional streets if the water main break shows additional signs of roadway undermining.

About 20 homes were without water as crews worked to repair the ruptured line. Service was restored by 4 p.m.

Vehicle traffic was advised to use other routes while repairs were being made.
