Police stats rank most violent San Diego neighborhoods

SAN DIEGO -- North Park was ranked among the most violent neighborhoods in San Diego last year, according to crime statistics released by San Diego police.

There were 168 violent crimes in the neighborhood in 2014, including 104 aggravated assaults, 30 strong arm robberies, 20 other armed robberies and 14 rapes, according to the statistics released Friday.

A series of violent attacks against women walking alone at night occurred last summer.

In terms of violent crime, North Park was ranked behind only Pacific Beach and the East Village.
