National Geographic documentary on San Diego premieres

SAN DIEGO – A documentary highlighting the best and brightest in San Diego premiered downtown Tuesday night.

The film, “World’s Smart Cities: San Diego”, is produced by the National geographic channel and showcases San Diego’s smartest citizens and companies. The premiere was at Copley Symphony Hall.

The hour-long documentary will be seen in 60 countries around the world, with an estimated 240 million houses tuning in.

San Diego was one of four cities in the world to be named “World’s Smart Cities” and the only city in  North America to receive the honor.

The San Diego Tourism Authority and the San Diego Regional EDC are expected to host receptions in Washington, D.C., London, and Tokyo to promote the film and the city.
