DENVER — One woman was critically injured in a shooting in downtown Denver Tuesday afternoon.
Police shut down multiple streets in the area while they dealt with an “active shooting scene,” according to KDVR.
A spokesman at Denver Health Medical Center told KDVR they did not expect any more victims.
Police said the shooting happened at 2:42 inside the Alliance Center in the 1500 block of Wynkoop. By 3:30 p.m., the scene was secure.
A male suspect was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot sound, according to Denver Police spokesman Dough Schepman. He said the woman was shot multiple times and was in critical condition.
Schepman was the victim appeared to be targeted and it did not appear to be a random shooting, but he emphasized this was preliminary information.
