SAN DIEGO — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with two vehicles Tuesday night in the Egger Highlands area of San Diego.
The collision happened shortly after 7 p.m. near the intersection of Coronado and Thermal avenues, according to San Diego police.
The driver of a gray Dodge Durango was traveling eastbound on Coronado Avenue and turned into the path of the motorcyclist, who was traveling westbound. The motorcyclist flew off the motorcycle and landed on a green Nissan Altima.
Sheriff’s deputies and passersby tried to help the motorcyclist but their efforts failed. The motorcyclist died at the scene.
The driver of the Durango was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
An investigation was underway.
