SAN DIEGO- The alleged mastermind behind the Benghazi attacks that killed four Americans is in American custody nearly two years, officials said.
Sean Smith of San Diego was one of four Americans killed during the September 2012 attack. His mother Pat Smith said the capture of Ahmed Abu Khatallah is not enough.
“It is not over. It is not over until that woman gets on there and tell what she knows,” Smith said, referring to Hillary Clinton former Secretary of State. “She said they were making a case against him and that is why it took so long. Excuses are excuses.”
Reports Tuesday said a team of special operations forces carried out a secret raid to capture Khatallah. He was lured into a location in Lybia and grabbed without a fight. Officials said he was taken to a Navy ship in the Mediterranean. He is being interrogated there by intelligence officers.
Smith is interested in what information Khatallah might reveal. She also has an opinion about his punishment, “eye for and eye or a tooth for a tooth.”
Sean Smith was a United States foreign service officer.
