SAN DIEGO — More than 1,400 customers across three San Diego communities woke up without power Tuesday morning after a San Diego Gas & Electric outage.

Customers lost the lights starting around 2 a.m. Power was knocked out for residents in Paradise Hills, Skyline and Bay Terraces.

SDG&E originally thought power would return by 7:30 a.m., but two hours past that mark, 1,200 homes were still without electricity. The utility did not immediately say what caused the outage, but a crew was investigating.
